Western Australia State Nomination Ranking System Updated

Several changes have been made to the ranking system used to issue invitations to apply for State nomination. It is aimed at giving more preference to applicants currently staying in Western Australia. The updates recently made are as follows.

Ranking of the applicants eligible for the General Stream

The ranks of the applicants qualified for General Stream will be done according to the following parameters.

• Applicants currently staying in Western Australia
• Applicants currently residing in another territory or state in Australia
• Applicants with the highest EOI points
• Applicants having the oldest submission date of their EOIs

Ranking of the applicants eligible for the Graduate Stream

In Australia, students who have passed out of their high schools can choose one of the two education sectors for further study. These sectors are Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education. The ranking system will be different for graduates in two different sectors. The detailed ranking method is given below.

Higher Education Graduates –

1. Applicants currently living in Western Australia
2. Applicants now staying in another state or territory in Australia
3. Applicants who have earned their Masters or PhD from a university in Western Australia
4. Applicants who have earned their Honours from a Western Australia university
5. Applicants who have earned their Bachelor degree from a Western Australia college or university

VET Graduates –

1. Applicants currently living in Western Australia
2. Applicants currently living in another Australian territory or state
3. Applicants with an Advanced Diploma certificate issued by a Western Australia institute
4. Applicants with a Diploma level qualification completed from an institute in Western Australia
5. Applicants having completed a Certificate IV course from an institute located in Western Australia
