Owing to the significant updates in the Australian immigration policy, rules related farmers and sporting clubs have been made more flexible to provide more opportunities for visa holders to get sponsored visa.
Recently Australia has made big changes to its immigration rules and regulations which include a wide range of eligible occupations for permanent and temporary migration to the country. All the updates have been made with the consultation and recommendation of the Department of Jobs and Small Business in accordance with the labour market advice.
The Department of Home Affairs reinforces that the changes in the skilled occupation lists ensure that the migration of skilled workers to Australia fulfils the labour needs of the country.
Important News: New Migration Points System Announced
David Coleman, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, and Multicultural Affairs told the media, “The Government aims to enhance the Migration Program to fulfil the skill shortages and such actions aim to fulfil that vision”.
Rules related to farmers and sports bodies have been relaxed. 18 new occupations such as beef, dairy, sheep, aquaculture, crop farmers, livestock and other agricultural roles have been added to the Skilled Occupation List. Mr Coleman said farmers coping with calamities such as drought will be benefitted from the updates.
Certain changes have also been made to fulfil the regional skill shortages. Anaesthetist and dentists have been added to the regional occupation list. The Regional Occupation List facilitates employers to sponsor visa holder to migrate to Australia and work for a period of four years. The applicants can also try for permanent residency in the specified region on fulfilment of the established parameters. The new updates conform to new visa application and not the existing applications.
