Changes to the Skilled Migration Points Test Declared
The federal government of Australia has announced the amendments in the skilled migration points system.
These changes will be effective from November, 2019 and will have an impact on single as well as partner applicants.
A well know education and migration expert from Melbourne, Mr Charanpreet said “The points test from November 2019 will be adjusted to give extra points to the main applicants, where their spouse has English proficiency though are not able to fulfil the skilled partner points requirements.

Currently, a visa applicant has the right to claim for additional points for their partners English and skills competency.
An applicant can claim these points if his/her partner meets set conditions. For this a must not be exceeding an age of 45 years, must have competent English skills and must possess a skill which can be assessed, said Mr Charanpreet.

Single applicants will also get benefited from these changes. They will be given extra points to make sure they are not disfavoured.
Though it is yet not clear that how the department will be calculating these points.

Mr Charanpreet further said that, everybody is still waiting for the details, hence we don’t have any idea how this new process will work. Although, according to what we have heard till now, it sounds quite attractive and the applicants might get benefited from it.
